Papa’s Freezeria

Papa’s Freezeria is a time-management cooking simulation game set on the tropical Calypso Island. Players take on the role of either Alberto or Penny, who have just started a summer job at Papa Louie’s oceanfront ice cream shop. The initially advertised “stress-free work” quickly becomes busy when a cruise ship full of Papa Louie’s loyal customers arrives, leaving the player to manage the Freezeria alone.

The core objective of the game is to satisfy customers by preparing custom sundaes to their exact specifications. A round of gameplay involves moving between four stations: the Order Station to take customer requests, the Build Station to pour ice cream and add mixables, the Mix Station to blend ingredients to the correct consistency, and the Top Station to add whipped cream, syrups, and various toppings. Accuracy and speed are crucial, as well-made sundaes earn higher tips and points, while mistakes can lead to unhappy customers and lower scores. As players progress through levels, new ingredients and customers are unlocked, increasing the complexity and challenge.

The game features various ways to enhance gameplay and customize the experience. Players earn tips and weekly paychecks, which can be used to purchase upgrades for the restaurant equipment, such as automatic ice cream pourers or blender timers, and decorations for the lobby. Decorating the lobby can even influence customer waiting times. There are also 80 in-game badges to earn for completing achievements. Challenging “Closer” customers and the Food Critic appear, offering opportunities for bonus rewards like blue ribbons that increase tips.
