Golden Axe 1

Golden Axe (1989) is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up game developed by Sega, set in a dark fantasy world filled with magic, monsters, and brutal combat. Players choose one of three heroes—Ax Battler the barbarian, Tyris Flare the amazon, or Gilius Thunderhead the dwarf—each seeking revenge against the evil tyrant Death Adder, who has stolen the legendary Golden Axe and kidnapped the royal family. The game features fast-paced cooperative action, where players battle waves of enemies using melee weapons, magic spells, and even ride mythical beasts like dragons. With its iconic fantasy atmosphere, powerful magic attacks, and memorable arcade gameplay, Golden Axe became one of the most beloved action games of its era and a cornerstone of late 1980s arcade and console gaming.
