Riot City” is a 2D side-scrolling beat ’em up game where players control narcotics agents Paul and Bobby. The plot unfolds as Paul and Bobby aim to dismantle the “MID” drug syndicate, whose secret hideout is on Riot Island, a slum filled with various buildings like apartments, hospitals, factories, and a casino. After Paul’s girlfriend, Catherine, is abducted by MID, the duo heads to Riot Island to rescue her. Gameplay involves fighting through multiple scenes within each level, defeating enemies that appear from both sides of the screen to progress, culminating in a boss battle. The game offers both single-player and two-player cooperative modes, and unlike some similar titles, it does not feature weapons for players to pick up.
