Cut the Rope: Time Travel is a physics-based puzzle game where the adorable monster Om Nom journeys through various historical periods to feed his ancestors candy. The game’s narrative begins when a time machine whisks away Om Nom’s candy, pulling him into a journey across different eras. Each time period introduces Om Nom to a unique ancestor, such as a medieval knight, a Renaissance artist, or a pirate captain, all of whom share his sweet tooth.

In each round, the player’s goal is to deliver candy to two hungry monsters: Om Nom and his ancestor for that era. Players must strategically cut ropes and interact with environmental elements to guide the candy to both creatures. Levels progress through different historical settings, each introducing new obstacles and mechanics that increase the challenge. For instance, the Middle Ages feature chains that require special blades to cut, while the Renaissance introduces a time freeze ability.

The game offers a single-player experience with numerous levels across many distinct time periods. Players can earn stars in each level based on how efficiently they feed the monsters. These stars can contribute to unlocking super powers, which provide assistance during puzzles. The game also includes animated stories that provide more insight into Om Nom’s ancestry.
