King of Thieves (WebAssembly)

King of Thieves is an action-puzzle platformer where players control an acrobatic, blob-like creature. The game features a narrative where the player, a former king of thieves who was imprisoned, escapes and seeks to reclaim their throne from the current king, Lord Rastin. The setting involves various leagues, with the ultimate goal of battling kings from other dimensions.

In each round, the primary objective is to sneak past enemies and traps to reach a chest containing gold and gems. Players automatically move forward and can jump by clicking the screen, changing direction by bouncing off walls. Levels feature various dangers such as roaming enemies and cannons. The fewer attempts it takes to clear a level, the more stars and rewards the player receives. Levels progressively become more challenging, requiring careful planning and adaptable strategies to navigate increasingly complex trap layouts.

The game offers various modes, including a single-player campaign with 112 levels and player-generated dungeons. Players can upgrade their traps to enhance dungeon defense and improve their thief’s abilities by upgrading the throne. Costumes are available to customize the player character’s appearance. Special abilities can be learned through ancient spells by collecting unique gems. The game also features a multiplayer component where players can steal from other user-created dungeons and join guilds to compete in arenas.

A key aspect of the game involves both attacking other players’ dungeons to steal resources and designing your own dungeon defenses to protect your loot. Players can obtain gems through stealing, mining, or performing rituals. It is often recommended for new players to focus on upgrading their traps and throne before reaching higher player levels, as matchmaking places players level 45 and above into a single pool, leading to more difficult encounters.
