Cut the Rope: Magic is a physics-puzzle game where players help the adorable green monster, Om Nom, retrieve his stolen candy. A magical mishap transports Om Nom to a mystical world filled with challenging puzzles after an evil wizard, Magic Spider, steals his candy. The game features a new art style and a revamped world map, with the story broken into chapters set in unique locations like Sky Castle, Mushroom Land, and Magic Forest.

The main goal of each round is to feed Om Nom candy by cutting ropes. Players must strategically cut ropes at specific heights and moments to guide the candy, collecting every star along the way to increase their score. If a mistake is made, there is no opportunity to correct it. Levels progressively increase in difficulty, requiring careful planning and precise timing to overcome obstacles and traps set by the evil wizard.

Om Nom possesses magical abilities, allowing him to transform into different creatures to solve puzzles. For example, he can turn into a bird to stay in the air, a baby to squeeze through tiny spaces, a mouse to distract with cheese, a fish to sink in water, a ghost to pass through walls, or a dragon to blast objects away. These transformations are crucial for navigating the hundreds of levels and recovering the stolen candy. The game is a single-player experience.
