Pudding Monsters is a physics-based puzzle game where players guide sentient gelatinous creatures. The story centers on these small, colorful desserts attempting to escape being eaten by a household kitchen owner. Fearing their fate, the puddings break free from their plates and realize they can fuse into larger shapes to overcome obstacles and gain strength. Their journey takes them through various settings, including “Fridge Escape,” “Room Tour,” “Neighborhood,” “City Tour,” and ultimately “Sky View,” as they aim to become an “Ultimate Mega Monster.”

A round of Pudding Monsters involves sliding individual pudding monsters across a grid. The primary goal is to merge all the gelatinous creatures on the screen into a single, massive entity. When swiped, a monster slides indefinitely until it collides with an obstacle, a wall, or another creature. If a monster slides off the edge, the level fails and must be restarted. When two or more puddings make contact, they permanently stick together, forming a larger, cohesive unit. Levels progress and get harder by introducing distinct environmental hazards and specialized monster variants, such as green puddings that leave sticky trails or purple puddings that remain stationary until bumped. To achieve a perfect three-star rating, the final merged monster must occupy specific star tiles on the game board.

The game features various monster types and environmental elements that alter gameplay. These include green puddings that leave sticky trails, purple puddings that are initially stationary, and magnetic monsters that attract other puddings. Other elements like ice blocks act as one-time-use obstacles, and cloning machines can produce more puddings. Players can also encounter “Mr. Powerlifter” monsters capable of moving rock formations and use cones to split monsters. The game offers numerous levels, with updates adding more stages and mechanics.
