The story begins when a portal appears in Papa’s Burgeria, and the evil Radley Madish, Sarge, and a legion of Burgerzillas kidnap Papa Louie and all the loyal customers. It’s up to Burgeria employees Marty and Rita to travel to the strange Land of Munchmore and save everyone from the ferocious food.

In each round, players navigate through various levels, fighting food-themed enemies like Burgerzillas, onions, and tomatoes by throwing bombs, jumping, and crouching. The goal is to defeat monsters, collect coins, and free captured customers from cages. Each level presents challenges, and progression involves rescuing new characters, which in turn unlocks new paths and allows players to revisit levels for more rewards. Levels culminate in boss battles, and success in these battles is key to unlocking the next stage.

The game features a single-player mode where players start with Marty and Rita, and every customer rescued becomes a new playable character with unique weapons and special skills. These skills, such as wall jumping, ground pounding, gliding, and double jumping, are essential for completing challenges across multiple worlds and accessing new areas. Players can collect coins to buy new outfits for their characters and earn Warp Keys by completing missions within each level.
