About Space Quest I: The Sarien Encounter (VGA)

Platform: MS-DOS
Category: Adventure

A sci-fi comedy adventure game developed and published by Sierra On-Line in 1991. It’s a complete VGA remake of the original 1986 classic, featuring enhanced 256-color graphics, a point-and-click interface, and an updated soundtrack.

Players assume the role of Roger Wilco, an underachieving janitor aboard the spaceship Arcada. When hostile aliens known as the Sariens steal a powerful experimental device called the Star Generator and destroy the ship, Roger must escape, survive, and ultimately stop the Sariens’ evil plans.

Filled with humor, clever puzzles, and parodies of science fiction pop culture, Space Quest I delivers a blend of challenge and comedy that made it one of Sierra’s most beloved adventure series. The VGA remake modernizes the experience while preserving the wit and charm of the original.
