FiFA Word Cup 94

FIFA International Soccer, released in 1994 for PC, was the very first game in the now-famous FIFA series by Electronic Arts. At the time, it stood out for its isometric perspective, which gave matches a more realistic 3D feel compared to the top-down or side-view soccer games of the early ’90s.

Players could choose from a wide selection of international teams and compete in exhibition matches, tournaments, or league-style competitions. Although the game did not include real player names due to licensing limitations, it captured the excitement of international football with fluid animations, digitized crowd chants, and stadium atmosphere.

The controls were simple but effective: dribbling, passing, tackling, and shooting were all easy to learn, yet mastering the timing required skill. For many PC gamers in the mid-90s, FIFA International Soccer was a groundbreaking sports title that laid the foundation for the long-running FIFA franchise.
