Street Fighter EX is a 2D fighting game with 3D graphics, released for arcade machines in 1996. It was a joint production between Capcom and Arika, although Arika alone was responsible for programming. It was the first Street Fighter game with polygonal graphics. The Street Fighter EX fighting system uses the fighting systems of the Street Fighter II and Street Fighter Alpha series. It plays like a 2D fighting game, but certain moves can be zoomed in and out thanks to the 3D graphics. The game uses special moves and Super Combos similar to previous games in the series. As with Street Fighter Alpha and Darkstalkers, the Super Combo meter, used to perform these and other moves, is divided into three levels. The game introduces several new features to enhance the player’s combat options.
