Shards

Shards is an HTML5 web browser game that falls into the arkanoid, ricochet, blocks, arcade, action, and touchscreen genres. It offers a modern take on the classic brick-breaking game, challenging players to clear all bricks as quickly as possible. The game features 80 distinct levels, each with unique fractal backgrounds and glass bricks that are arbitrarily scaled and rotated.

In each round of Shards, the player's primary goal is to destroy all the bricks on the screen using a ball and a movable paddle. The player must prevent the ball from falling off the bottom of the screen by bouncing it back towards the bricks. As levels progress, the ball's speed can increase, and brick layouts become more complex, introducing varied angles and placements that require precise paddle control.

The game incorporates various power-ups to assist players in clearing the board. These power-ups can include a laser paddle, multiple balls, or a power ball, among others. Shards also features "Shardiens," which are glassy enemies that appear in levels. The game offers three difficulty levels and includes an original soundtrack.
