Jungle King (Hunt)

Jungle Hunt is a one- or two-player side-scrolling action platform game, originally known as Jungle King in early releases. The player controls a jungle explorer, sporting a pith helmet and safari suit, on a mission to rescue a girl from a tribe of cannibals. The adventure unfolds across four distinct scenes: swinging from vine to vine, navigating a crocodile-infested river, dodging falling rocks, and finally, releasing the girl before she is lowered into a boiling cauldron. This title is notable for being one of the first video games to incorporate parallax scrolling, a technique that creates an illusion of depth by moving background layers at different speeds. The game's name was changed from Jungle King due to copyright disputes over the protagonist's resemblance to Tarzan.
